In an unorthodox move, the palace released a statement soon after Harry and Markle’s, telling the world: “Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.” A BBC report characterized the palace’s attitude toward Harry and Markle’s announcement as “disappointed.” Now it appears the queen intends to do something about it.
